1st Compton Beaver Colony

Welcome to our Beaver colony - we meet on Wednesdays 5:30-6:45pm at the Scout and Guide HQ (The Hut), Wareham Lane, Compton, Berkshire.

We have 3 Adult Helpers - Hawk (BS Leader), Kite (AssBS Leader) and Magpie (AssBS Leader).

We welcome all boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 8 years and work towards a balance programme which involves badge work, nights away, hikes, arts and crafts and adventure days. We also have meetings away from The Hut, recently the Colony have visited Didcot Fire Station, Angels Corner Campsite (wild treasure hunt and fire building), Pets at Home, Discovery Centre (Thatcham).

We encourage our parents/guardians to help out at meetings, nights away and activity days. This is a good way to see and be involved in Scouting.

The Beaver Colony and Cub Pack often will get together for family events such as Campfires and activity days.

The leadership team are always looking for more adults to join in the fun and the Group is expanding in 2011 with the new Scout troop.
